Director at dcypher: cooperation platform for cybersecurity innovation
From security to resilience
There is a noticeable shift from cybersecurity to cyber resilience. The former is mainly considered a security problem, dealt with by many departments. The latter is seen on a more organizational level and is concerned with the ability to recover and continuously adapt to threats. Therefore, it is also a concern in the boardroom.
Although this shift makes sense, most effort, tooling, and processes related to digital security are still focused on the “edge” of the digital infrastructure, treating security as an afterthought. This will need to change, requiring fundamental innovation.
Eddy Boot, director at dcypher, a cooperation platform for cybersecurity innovation, will talk about the necessity of cybersecurity-by-design, which ensures that systems are resilient to attacks not only afterward, but also during design and implementation.
