CISODAY2025: Together, we stand
Cybercrime is a persistent phenomenon that is neither diminishing nor disappearing. Actors range from evil geniuses leading operations at scale to lone opportunists. The smart ones have specialized and handpicked their victims. Their less capable colleagues employ malware off the shelf and indiscriminately fire at many targets.
On a different level, relentless state-sponsored actors with deep pockets play an ever more prominent role. Their actions are potentially very disruptive, and cause geopolitical troubles that were unthinkable a few years ago. No country, business, or organization escapes the consequences.
Moreover, securing our digital and physical infrastructure has become eerily similar. Military and cyber resilience are overlapping, and both worlds are learning from each other.
The good news is that job security for CISOs has never been so high. But many CISOs are overwhelmed by being in crisis mode so often. As a consequence, they resign, looking for less demanding responsibilities.
AI-powered security solutions are doing some heavy lifting, but the enemy finds ways to employ the technology as well – it's just another arms race.
As a group, we cannot bow to the pressure. As CISOs, we have to support and look out for each other. We're all in this together. Because together, we stand.
Last year, about 150 CISOs stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight. This year, we will participate in even larger numbers. Will you join us?
Together, we stand – not just on CISODAY, but all year round.
